🤸♀️ What is Artistic Gymnastics?
Artistic gymnastics is one of the most well-known and practiced disciplines in the world. It’s what we see at the Olympic Games, where gymnasts perform routines full of strength, precision, and elegance.
It is divided into two main branches:
👩🦰 Women’s Artistic Gymnastics
-
Floor: Choreographed routines set to music, mixing acrobatics, spins, and expressiveness.
-
Balance Beam: Extreme precision on a beam only 10 cm wide.
-
Uneven Bars: Fluid and spectacular aerial movements.
-
Vault: Power, speed, and technique in the air.
👨🦱 Men’s Artistic Gymnastics
-
Rings: Total control of the body while suspended.
-
Pommel Horse: Continuous circular movements powered by core strength.
-
High Bar: Acrobatics and spins high in the air.
-
Parallel Bars, Floor, and Vault: Strength, power, and agility.
Each apparatus demands different skills, but they all share a common foundation: discipline, coordination, and total body control.

🤸♂️ And Acrobatic Gymnastics?
Acrobatic gymnastics is a group discipline where two or more people perform team exercises involving throws, balances, human pyramids, and synchronized movements.
Here, there are no apparatuses. The body is the apparatus.
Work is done in:
-
Pairs (Base + Flyer): Spectacular figures in the air.
-
Trios or Quartets: Perfect coordination to form human towers and dynamic transitions.
-
Group Routines: With music, creativity, and high levels of synchronization.
This discipline stands out for its visual impact, teamwork, and the immense development of trust between partners.

💥 Benefits for Practitioners
Both artistic and acrobatic gymnastics offer incredible physical and mental benefits, even from an early age:
-
Improvement of strength, flexibility, and coordination.
-
Greater body awareness and movement control.
-
Discipline, perseverance, and self-esteem.
-
Development of creativity and the ability to overcome challenges.
-
In the case of Acrobatics: promotion of teamwork and mutual trust.

🎯 Who Can Practice It?
Everyone!
Although artistic and acrobatic gymnastics usually start in childhood, there are also programs for youth and adults looking to improve their physical condition or explore new challenges.
At Indomove Academy, we adapt training to each person's level, regardless of previous experience. From those looking for a fun way to move to those dreaming of competing one day.
